So far so good, we started opening and setting up on the grass, from there we decided the more level concrete slab would be a better & cleaner area to set the pool on so we drained the little we did fill in a few min and it went up on the patio fairly easily and in a matter of minutes. After huffing and puffing for the first 5 min. I was able to get the upper support ring at the top/rim inflated. From there I smoothed out the bottom of the heavy vinyl liner and started to fill, during the first 15 min I gently stretched out the vinyl liner gently smoothing it out as it filled, the first 10-15 min is fine, after that the weight of the water will be too much to be able to stretch out the liner bottom any further.

All in all It took about 30-40 min to completely fill the pool to the top rim. While filling you will need to get those hoses in place as the water rises to the area the hose ports are it will start to drain out the hoses unless the hoses are attached with the clamps provided to the pump etc. the entire thing is fairly simple to hook up, take your time identifying the pump hose parts listed in the instructions as they are illustrated very small and a little difficult to identify, once you understand the sequence/route for the hoses it should be fairly easy to finish up.

I have to say for the price this is a really nice little pool! Being someone who admires the genius of a good design I appreciated the pool probably a bit more than most, the design itself is brilliant, large stable bottom and the sides of the pool taper/are smaller in circumference traveling up toward the top or rim of the pool, which gives it a good stable side without any additional support such as a frame, rim itself is basically an inflatable doughnut which contributes significantly to the stabilization of the pool as inflatables float, the inflatable rim is constantly pulling upward ensuring the sides always return to their intended position holding in the water no matter if someone pushes the rim down allowing water to escape during getting in or out of the pool.

It doesn''t come with any sort of ladder or way in or out other than pushing down the upper rim/doughnut so it''s nice to be able to squish down the rim and step over, yes some water spills out each time but the inflatable rim ensures the water loss is minimum as it always returns to its correct position stopping further water loss each time. Brilliant! In case you can''t tell I really like this thing!

It''s big enough for an adult to sit in it and being 6''3" the water Lime would fall somewhere around my neck area. A 4 year old child of 37" is able to stand in the pool and have the water just below their chin or neck area, so it''s nice they are mostly submersed with the option of always standing up if they have a problem. Always watch your child, NEVER leave them alone even for a second as it doesn''t take long for a child to drowned. As long as you''re there and your child is tall enough to stand and have the water fall below their chin, they should be fine playing inside the pool by themselves with you watching.

I’ve included an updated photo, the fittings do leak a bit if the clamps are not positioned directly over the rubber o-ring as the clamps are installed. Even so the plastic clamps really aren’t able to ensure a leak proof fit. If this isn’t something you’d be able to live with, I’d recommend getting better steel clamps in place of he provided plastic ones.

NOTE: If you appreciated this review please give it a “thumbs up/like” your helping me to continue to give honest/unbiased insight into products I’ve used and you may have questions about. Interested in a product but don''t know enough about it and would like it reviewed? Please let me know and I''ll see what I can do... Thank you 🙏

Things to know before buying this pool.

    1. You absolutely must have an even surface or 98% of the way there. Period. Do not buy the pool if you do not have at least 8x8 of level ground to put it on.

    2. The filter that comes with this pool is worthless. Reviews said this but I chalked it up to negative nillies. Buy this same pool without the filter for slightly cheaper and then buy the larger filter for $60 or splurge for the $105 small sand filter.

    3. That sand filter is a great value because it''ll also pump your water out of the pool if you need to drain it for any reason or take down at the end of the season. I bought a pump for this for $50 and now wish I just bought the sand filter for another $50.

    4. If you put the pool on a foam base (I used 4x8 foam insulation sheets) if makes it easier to stretch the bottom and make sure it is even and without wrinkles. The pool has to be on a level surface and you need to get those wrinkles out.

    5. Instructions for the filter suck. So here is a helpful tip. There are three holes in the pool. The highest hole is where the jet goes and that connects to the lower outlet on the filter. The other two holes are for the suction/strainer type to pull water from the pull and that plugs into the higher port on the filter. The two short tubes are for those ports, those plug into the t fitting and the longer tubes plug into the jet and filter and at the bottom of the t fitting and the filter. That''s all you need to know.

4 stars due to a useless filter. I have only just set the pool up and haven''t used It yet but it''s been up for 8 hrs and looks good.

    **** Update 6/15/2018 ****

The pool has seen heavy use. My 8 yr old has been in it several times a wk as have I. It is still holding up well. The ring needs to be topped off with air every 2-3 days. We have a pump so that is no big deal. The filter as I mentioned before is simply not good enough for this pool. It is filtering, as I just replaced the filter and it was gross but not nearly enough. The larger filter is on sale for $35 via amazon right now and I would highly recommend getting that. Here is what I purchased with this pool.

    Chlorine + Stabilizer - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PZZFQKY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I put two in and test the pool every couple of days and try to keep 2 full tablets in it at all times. Thus far it has tested great every single day.

    Chlorine floater - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002M40VJM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Testing strips - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001E6E9PG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Pump - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000X05G1A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I use the pump to drain water out every two weeks and re top. The added benefit is the pump is on the bottom of the pool and will clean it as well. It is a totally optional purchase but it will also allow me to drain the pool into a sewer to the street.

I have nothing bad to say about the pool, it is still going strong, the leaks at the hoses are very minimal and the filter is what it is. I would recommend buying this pool to someone who has a small area, doesn''t want to spend a lot of time keeping it up, and has young kids or just wants something to relax in and cool off.

    **** 7/5/2018**** Update
The large filter is on sale now for $40. This is the 1000GPH filter. This filter will also allow you to attach the intex vacuum to it to clean the bottom of the pool. I highly recommend purchasing that filter, keep the one that comes with this pool as a spare or buy this same pool without a filter included.

Also we have had several days in the high 90s and low 100s. We have used this pool a lot during this time. The pool is still holding up well and doing its job.

This is my 3rd one of these types of pools in 10years. I usually get a few years out of each pool, had one season where I went to a hard plastic rim pool but it was a project to take down in the fall. This one is as simple as it gets and you really want a 18-20’ ft round pool. It is imperative that your ground is level and you flatten out the bottom of the pool before filling. While filling ensure the sides are out to the bottom seams, inflate the ring and let the hose do its job. Fills up nicely, perfect height for my young kids, summer lasts for 3 months in the Northeast and when September comes we drain, dry, fold up and store in backyard in a tarp. I should mention that I use the regular filter but use the salt water system and it eliminates all of the added expense of adding chlorine, well worth it.

Ultimately I’m happy with this pool. We got the 18X48 version. Please note that when they say the ground must be level, THEY MEAN IT. I don’t blame them for this, it’s kind of common sense. We thought we had level ground, but turns out we have just enough of a slope to create a problem. Currently our pool is set up with one side full and the other about 6 inches short. But frig it, it works. We have had 4 full size adults with floats hopping around in with room for more, so I call it a success. Next year we are going to take the time to dig into and fill the land and set it up the right way.

Also - as a friendly suggestion, unless you live in an environment where algae grows like crazy naturally (hot and humid maybe, idk) don’t bother listening to the pool stores or apps, you do not need $150 worth of chemicals to keep this pool clean. Chlorine tabs, chlorine shock treatment and a bottle of algae killer is enough. This was advice given to me from a friend who has a legit in ground pool, of course they told me after i wasted my money...

We basically wanted a pool that my 4 year old couldn''t drown in (without trying, always supervise your kids) , that would fit on our back deck, that came with a pump and filter because of the outbreak of noro virus at public pools this summer. We bought $25 worth of Styrofoam insulation at our local home depot to line the deck with and literally sat the pool up in 4 hours including fills (we hauled two 200 gallon tanks from our farms spring and it filled pretty much to the top. We do still have some wrinkles in the bottom liner but rather than that I''m pretty content with how easy the set up is. The filter seems to be doing ok. I still skim it every day to make sure I get everything out in case the filter misses something and we''re running it around 6 hours a day. I bought a floater off Amazon and put two one inch chlorine tablets in it. The jury is still out on whether I''m using enough or too much.

Overall, if you are like me, a pregnant lady in the summer who has a 4 year old with energy to burn a pool like this really is the best thing you can invest in. It allows your child to burn energy and you to stay cool.
By the time we were done I had $90 in everything but still need to buy a cover. I plan on using the black trash bag trick to get my water warm and buying the index drawstring cover.

From experience, I know how challenging it can be to pick out a pool online. I went back and forth between brands, sizes, reviews and finally decided on this one. I’m glad I did! The pool comes with 3 separate instruction manuals. One for the ladder, pump, and pool. The ladder instructions were fine, the pool and pump instructions were a little more difficult to navigate. For the most part it’s common sense on the setting up of the actual pool, it was attaching the pump to the pool and putting the pump together that took me a minute. I actually had to watch a you tube video. This does come with an instructional dvd as well but YouTube was the faster option. I also have one suggestion for the manufacturer- there needs to be some sort of marking on the pool liner that indicates where the center is. Laying out a 18ft pool and trying to make sure you have it centered on the ground cover perfect was a challenge. As I started adding water I had to get in and run around the pool trying to adjust the bottom of the pool liner to make sure it was all even, I still didn’t manage to get it centered correctly. I had to get out and cut corners of the ground cloth off and position them under areas of the pool that were hanging off the tarp. My only suggestion as a remedy for this, with no center marking on the pool, would be to buy a separate larger tarp then what is provided with the pool and use that instead of the ground cover that comes with it. As for other reviewers stressing the importance of the ground being level, it’s true! It’s very important. I didn’t get a level out and make sure it was perfect. I choose a spot in my yard that looked pretty level to me maybe an inch or 2 difference and I set it up hoping for the best.. boy was I off on my eyeballing level ground skills lol! As I started to add the water I could tell immediately it was going to be off. I had about 2 inches in one side before the other side started to hold water. Im thinking ok no big deal, this is what I was expecting anyway, 1-2 inches off, were fine here.. wrong! When it was all said and done it was about a 10in difference. Fearing the pool would overflow I stopped the water when the side that had the most water got to the full point. That left about a 10 inch slack in the pool height on the other side. The blown up ring kinda just sits on top of the water on this side, as you can see in the pictures, and on the far side the water is completely up to the blown up ring. Now to me, it’s no big deal.. you can definitely tell it’s not full to capacity on the one side but I’m not so angery over it that I would drain it and go through the whole process again. So make sure if you get into the same problem I did you STOP filling it when gets full on one side or it absolutely will spill over and your gonna have a mess on your hands! Overall it seems to be well made. I haven’t seen any small leaks or anything. I will update as we get further in to summer and get more use out if it. I hope this helps and good luck!!

Pump stopped working after less than a month.
    The 800 number is useless.
The "limited warranty" requires you to take the defective item to an "appropriate Intex Service Center listed in the separate Authorized Service Centers sheet, who will determine the validity of your claim. If the Service Center directs you to return the product, please carefully package the product and send with shipping and insurance
prepaid to the Service Center. Upon receipt of the returned product, the Intex Service Center will inspect the item and determine the validity of the claim. If the provisions of this warranty cover the item, the item will be repaired or replaced at no charge." So you may or may not get a replacement.
We''ve had Intex pools before and never had problems like this. If you get a non-defective pool it''s a great option. But when you have a problem, you have a major problem.
Amazon will replace it or refund me if I drain it, pack it, and ship it, which sounds like a difficult and expensive project.
    Major disappointment Intex.

This is the second Intex Pool I’ve bought this summer. The first via amazon.

The first one was the 10x30” easy set, Which was really inepensive, bought locally. Got it filled up and all the pin size holes in it showed up shooting out water (maybe 2 at the time) .

Okay, cheap pool. Fix it. That pool lasted maybe 1.5 months until the ring wouldn’t inflate anymore so we had to dump it (and this was with 2 little girls with floaties on their arms. So they didn’t do anything crazy in the pool at all)

Decided to get the 15’x42” round, easy-set pool via amazon, after weeks of price comparisons (amazon DEF beat Everyone else!), and goin back and forth between brands.

We received it yesterday (07.18.18), and we set it up on flat concrete, on the included tarp, (after we blew off the area and swept it, washed it. Etc).

We spent an hour making sure it was all perfect, then began filling (from our hose mind you, and we live in the desert!). Spent probably 6 hours filling it up. Got it completely filled and PIN SIZE HOLES!

NOTHING we did could have done that! We’ve found 3 so far. It’s a shame too because I just put a whole lot of water in it so I’m not going to take it down and return it. That is insane. And the patches they include pretty much stink (but they DO include them!) so we had to enlist a Home store for that repair.

The holes aren’t HUGE, don’t get me wrong, but they’re noticeable when the water is shooting out in tiny streams.

I just find it so frustrating that I spent $200, And then another $300+ On water, to not have even a moment of a perfect product. But such is this imperfect world I suppose ha.

So I DO love the pool (every after all my whining and complaining lol). It’s a great size. Def need two people to set it up and get it situated (well, you don’t but it’s. HARD as one), and the kids are LOVING it! But I suppose the lesson would be an easy set pool will typically have issues?!? I’m honestly not sure what the answer is to that, but both of our same brand pools have, so your guess is as good as mine.

It’s worth the coin toss, I do believe. As long as the top ring stays filled, but sadly you won’t know until all the money is already spent.

Oh and you’ll def want to invest in a pool vacuum. (Plus the chemicals and filters). This isn’t a kiddy pool that you can refill every other day.

:-) good luck! May yours be better than mine!! :-)

Since we are on a well and it took a long time to fill it, I was not emptying to send back. On this bigger pool it averages out to a cost of about $107/yr to own it plus hydro which isn’t that much, water to fill it and 3” pucks for chlorinating. This pool is just big enough to swim around underwater as an adult. It takes about 15 to 17 hours to fill and is simple to put up. At the end of the season, we empty it, clean out any debris and dry it before folding and rolling it up for winter storage. With temps of 33 celcius, we are enjoying the pool everyday. A good option to buy is a solar blanket, typically between $40-$60 CDN, it will help warm your pool up in the beginning. Don’t hesitate. Buy one today!
